Propagation geometry and its effect on peak scintillation of intensity

Abstract: Extended Rytov Theory (ERT) is often interpreted as describing intensity scintillations as a function of volume turbulence strength. This approach can create difficulties when trying to compare theory to experimental results and wave optics simulations.
