Abstract: A highly reliable, broadband, in-vehicle optical network, the Si-Photonics-Based In-Vehicle Optical Network (SiPhON), is proposed. The fragile laser diodes are placed only in the master and optical packets are transmitted between the master and slave nodes in a ring topology network.
