Promotional Policies and Legislative Support for Grid-Connected Renewable Energy Projects

Abstract: Renewable Energy Sources-Based Electricity (RES-E) plays a key role in sustainable development – of meeting current energy demands, without adding to global warming concerns. However, as of 2017, only 8.5% of the total electricity generation came from RES-E. To boost this contribution, countries rely on strong legislative and policy support/tools. This case focuses on studying the legislative or regulatory frameworks put in place by the top three developed countries, and compares it with three developing count… Show more

“…The role of promotional policies and legislative support in advancing grid-connected renewable energy projects further illustrates the significance of regulatory frameworks in achieving sustainable energy goals. Sen and Kulkarni (2020) discuss the effectiveness of policies such as feed-in tariffs and renewable purchase obligations in incentivizing the development of renewable energy while underscoring the importance of incorporating cybersecurity considerations into these policies. The study suggests that comprehensive legislative support, which includes cybersecurity measures, is essential for the successful integration of renewable energy into national grids, thereby enhancing both energy security and environmental sustainability.…”
