This chapter examined the importance of trust and psychological safety in university team environments. Trust and psychological safety influence the overall success of educational institutions. A comprehensive overview of trust and psychological safety is provided, highlighting their significance in team dynamics and their impact on individual and collective performance since teamwork is at the core of academic excellence. Evidence-based strategies to promote trust and psychological safety in team environments such as open communication, inclusive governance and decision-making processes, supportive and nurturing culture, clear goals and clear expectations among others are discussed. threats to trust and psychological safety within team environments are discussed.
