“…School-based programs incorporating skills-based approaches to conflict resolution may be one way to reach more youth early in their lives. Communitybased behavioral interventions, such as Program H, Stepping Stones, and the Men As Partners project, have already shown success in reducing male IPV perpetration by promoting gender equity and healthy relationship norms [17][18][19]. Scaling up these programs to reach youth in schools may be worthwhile in Brazil and globally.…”

Programme examples from Latin America include Instituto Promundo's Program H in Brazil, which was shown to effectively improve gender attitudes, condom use and self-reported STI symptoms through group SRH education and community-level media campaigns (Pulerwitz et al 2006). Stepping Stones, a programme that has been implemented worldwide (including a Spanish version in various Latin American countries, including Honduras), is a gender and sexuality curriculum that engages men and women in a series of workshops and community meetings to improve gender relations.…”
