The mineral composition, surface morphology, dispersion and specific surface of dispersed clay fillers of various chemical nature have been experimentally determined. As materials for research used clay mineral disperse fillers of various chemical and mineral composition: bentonite clay, kaolinite clay and diabase flour. Using the thermogravimetric (TG) analysis and the differential thermal analysis (DTA), the structure of the hydroxyl-hydrated surface layer of the filler surface has been studied. The amount and acidity of the surface active centers of clay fillers have been investigated using pK-metric and pH-metric methods. It was established that the mineral composition is the determining factor in the acid-base surface properties of clay fillers. The thickness of the hydroxyl-hydrated surface layer affects the acidity of the surface, at certain large sizes. It has been shown that clay fillers, which include montmorillonite as the dominant minerals, are characterized by higher acidity than the fillers that consist of kaolinite. In the mixed clay fillers, the acid-base properties of the surface depend on the chemical nature of the impurities and related minerals.

The influence of regularities of the chemical-mineralogical nature, the dispersity, and the surface properties of inorganic fillers on the protective properties of epoxy polymer composite materials have been investigated. Polymeric compositions based on epoxy resin of ED-20 brand and aliphatic amine curing agent of diethylenetriamine of DETA brand have been chosen as the research materials. The fillers were the air-dry dispersed materials of different nature: oxide, clay and quartz. The resistance of the composites to water and aqueous solutions (absorbency) was investigated by dipping the samples into an aggressive aqueous medium. For the received samples of the filled composites, thermogravimetric (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) method were used using the SDT Q600 device manufactured by TA Instruments (USA). It has been found that the thermal stability and the absorbing capacity of the filled composites in water and aqueous acidic and alkaline mediums correlate with each other. It has been shown that to obtain materials with improved protective characteristics, it is necessary to use oxide or clay fillers with the basic (alkaline) surface function.

Biomimetic heterogeneous catalysts were prepared by immobilization of meso‐tetrakis(4‐carboxyphenyl)porphyrinatomanganese(III) acetate (MnTCPP) and meso‐tetrakis(4‐carboxyphenyl)porphyrinatoiron(III) chloride (FeTCPP) on graphitic carbon nitride (g‐C3N4) nanosheets. The anchored catalysts were characterized by various techniques such as scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, powder X‐ray diffraction, ultraviolet visible, photoluminescence, flame atomic absorption, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The thermogravimetric analysis demonstrated that the prepared catalysts were thermally stable up to almost 350°C, exhibiting high thermal stability. In the following, the catalytic efficiency of the prepared nanocatalyst was also investigated for the oxidation of various olefins with hydrogen peroxide (as a green oxidant) and the effect of various parameters which may affect the catalytic efficiency was optimized. The maximum conversion (100% for α‐methylstyrene and 97% for cyclooctene) was obtained in the presence of MnTCPP@C3N4. The Mn porphyrin nanocatalyst shows higher catalytic efficiency compared to the Fe porphyrin.
