A larger amount of data gives a better output but also working with it can become a challenge due to processing limitations. Nowadays companies are starting to realize the importance of using more data in order to support decision for their strategies. It was said and proved through study cases that “More data usually beats better algorithms”. With this statement companies started to realize that they can chose to invest more in processing larger sets of data rather than investing in expensive algorithms. During the last decade, large statistics evaluation has seen an exponential boom and will absolutely retain to witness outstanding tendencies due to the emergence of new interactive multimedia packages and extraordinarily incorporated systems driven via the speedy growth in statistics services and microelectronic gadgets. Up to now, maximum of the modern mobile structures are especially centered to voice communications with low transmission fees.

Big Data, whenever we come through this word then only a single thought come in our mind, a huge amount of data. Data is too large and complicated that we are unable to process it through traditional database management system. Today we have 80 percent of unstructured data over the internet mainly images and videos. So to manage such a big amount of data we use the Hadoop. In this paper we are going to cover the video analytics using Hadoop. Video Analytics is the demand of today. Now a days we are using the video surveillance at home which produce the lots of data. Now the issue occur to store it and then analysis it. In this paper we are going to discuss the techniques to store the large amount of data and how to make the analysis of it. So to do image processing/comparison we are using the HIPI (Hadoop image Processing Interface). Image comparison is the first phase from where we start the video analytics.

Big Data" is a term that have jumped overnight from its roots. It can be described as an innovative technique and technology to save, distribute, manage, visualize and analyze larger-sized data with extreme velocity and methods to manage unstructured and structure incapable amount of data. Big data has high capacity to predict conclusion, with low cost consumption, increase efficiency and enhance decision-making in various fields like traffic control ,weather prediction , disaster prevention, finance management, fraud control, improve business transaction, control on national security, education improvement, and health care. Analyzing Big Data is a challenging task as it involves large distributed file systems which should be fault tolerant, flexible and scalable. Various technologies can be used to handle the big data. These technologies handle massive amount of data in MB, PB, YB, ZB, KB, and TB.
