Purpose – The present study investigates the risk factors and their risk management in Kazakhstan oil and gas mega-construction projects. Design/methodology – Through a quantitative research approach, 384 were stratified into ten listed companies in Kazakhstan that were selected randomly. By stratification, 38.4 persons were selected for interviews from each company. Findings – The study findings through a statistical analysis revealed that internal risks and other significant risks were showing a moderate correlation with the performance of mega projects, while external risks were not affecting the performance with a weak correlation. Practical Implications – The present research is the initial step towards the risk identification process for producing strategic policies for risks and discussing their sources and consequences on performance. It is awareness for the workers and employees working in the mega constructions projects in Kazakhstan to know the possible risk factors for the project for the improvement in the performance. Theoretical Contribution –The study possesses theoretical implications for the academics and the researcher to know the risk factors of the projects, including internal, external and other significant risks in mega construction projects. It helps recognize the practical advantages and disadvantages of all the risk factors in the industry. The study would benefit future theoretical researchers examining other categories and their effect on other enterprises. Limitations/Originality/Value – The study has not used the theoretical framework for oil and gas mega-construction projects' risk factors. Thus, future researchers can work on applying and expanding the theory related to the risk factors impacting performance. Other factors affecting Kazakhstan's oil and gas projects are needed to focus on influencing the performance of the specific industry.

The construction industry in the public sector has failed in recent years, due to deficiencies in the management of processes in the tenders and the contractual execution of public works and this problem has been replicated in the Provincial Municipality of Puno, which is why the The main objective of this research is to know the consequences of the implementation of the Construction Information Model in the terms of reference formulated by the user area in the Provincial Municipality of Puno, the Survey method was used, based on an information survey. of the knowledge and uses of the methodology of the Construction Information Model that the officials and public servants of this entity have, a statistical history of the behavior of the works by contract in buildings from 2016 to 2020 was made, results such as as deficiencies in contractual and administrative procedures; That is why the projects in this entity are not successful and even most of the works do not have a technical-financial settlement to date. A mapping of the traditional processes used by the Provincial Municipality of Puno was carried out according to its organization chart and it has been detected that the process for a project to be viable at the design level is long and for the same project to be executed there are facts. bureaucratic; Therefore, a new mapping of processes is proposed with the methodology of the Construction Information Model to streamline the processes of the entity, and finally a proposal for improvement is proposed with the pilot plan or implementation of the approach of the terms of reference with guidelines of the methodology of the Construction Information Model in projects that are in the bidding stage to obtain a level of detail indicated in the technical specifications of each project.

The COVID-19 pandemic has halted economic activities and made business dynamics much more challenging by introducing several additional operational, structural, and managerial constraints. The problem has affected global supply chains in many ways, and has questioned their long-term continuity. On the other hand, Industry 4.0 is an emerging phenomenon. However, there is a need to investigate how Industry 4.0 technologies may play a potential role in sustaining business operations to ease unprecedented causalities. The current research aims to investigate the potentiality of Industry 4.0 technologies to solve the COVID-19 challenges for long term sustainability. From an exploratory literature analysis coupled with the Delphi method, keeping in view the situation of the pandemic, ten challenge groups that have affected global business dynamics were identified. A questionnaire was developed with the aim of accumulating industrial and academic experts to evaluate the degree of influence and interrelationship among the identified challenges. The Decision Making, Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) approach was deployed to further analyze the challenges for the categorization of these into causes and effects, further prioritizing them for better decision making. The prioritized challenges from the list of causes were governmental policies and support, followed by real access to customers and a lack of infrastructure. Additionally, these challenges were further evaluated through the expert opinion of Industry 4.0 systems experts and strategic-level supply chain experts to potentially gauge the potency of Industry 4.0 technologies to solve COVID-19-induced challenges. The outcomes of this research (which used Delphi integrated with a DEMATEL approach) are expected to support businesses in formulating strategies with the aim of business continuity in combating future disruptions caused by COVID-19-like pandemics.
