“…Appendix A shows the gains for the variables of all the DMUs. An Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test is useful to determine if there are significant differences in the average efficiencies, which can also be useful in project management [63][64][65]. This test involves multiple comparisons among treatment groups to ascertain whether the set of samples exhibits significant differences in means.…”

“…Scholars recommend a minimum sample size of 30 for data processing and substantial results, even though the sample size is small (Ott and Longnecker, 2015). The sample size is similar to other construction project management research, with 50 responses (Sweis and Jaradat, 2021) and 45 responses (Maznah et al , 2014). Finally, the total number of respondents was considered sufficient, as EAs and EOs population for highway construction projects was also small.…”

“…Data were collected via an anonymous structured survey of small and medium contractors in the Jordanian construction industry. The construction sector in Jordan was chosen as the focus of this research because it is a typical example of a developing middle-income country where poor construction project performance has long been a concern (Abuezhayeh et al, 2021;Kasabreh and Tarawneh, 2021;Sweis and Jaradat, 2021;Hiyassat et al, 2022). Contractors were randomly sampled from the population of small-to-medium-sized contractors in the Jordanian construction industry as listed in the Jordanian Construction Contractors Association's (JCCA) annual reports which are based on the Jordanian Ministry of Industry and Trade's classification of small-to-medium-sized businesses.…”
