Purpose The aim of this study was to explore the symptom experience and self-management strategies of adult hematopoietic stem cell transplantation patients during hospitalization. Methods This was a qualitative descriptive study. A heterogeneous sample of 19 patients who underwent hematopoietic stem cell transplantation from May to October 2021 were enrolled in the study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted at four time points during hospitalization, providing a total of 64 interview datasets. Results Four themes and 11 subthemes reflecting the symptom experience and self-management strategies of adult hematopoietic stem cell transplantation patients during hospitalization were observed. The four themes were (1) unexpected symptom burden: dynamic, disturbing, co-occurring, and correlative; (2) emotional complexity at different periods; (3) internal predicament: ineffectiveness of symptom management; and (4) external strength: desire for support from multiple sources. Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation patients experienced a complex and dynamic array of symptoms from admission to discharge, and they experienced the dual forces of internal predicament and external strength in symptom selfmanagement during hospitalization. ConclusionThe findings of this study emphasize the need for a deeper understanding and precise management of the symptom experience of adult hematopoietic stem cell transplantation patients during hospitalization. Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation nurses need to assess symptoms on an ongoing basis; educate patients on ways to perceive, express, and self-manage multiple symptoms; and develop patients' self-symptom management skills to enhance their symptom relief and quality of life.

In the information age, online teaching has become an essential field of educational development. The work aims to analyze the factors influencing learning intention of Overseas Students (OSs) during the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The work adopts the method of Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), and implements the influencing factor model of open source software online Chinese learning (OCL). Specifically, the OSs of five colleges and universities in Fuzhou are taken as the research objects. The data is collected through questionnaire survey (QS) and Spss25.0 to analyze the reliability and validity of the data, and Amos23.0 is used to validate the model. The results present that autonomy and self-discipline have become the necessary factors affecting open source software OCL, and personal interests and hobbies are the main factors affecting open source software OCL. Meantime, perceived interest, self-learning management, effort expectation, community influence, performance expectation, and promotion conditions have a significant positive impact on the willingness to promote Chinese learning, and their influence degree increases in turn. The conclusion can provide a novel online teaching and learning strategy for open source software under the COVID-19 situation.

To qualitatively explore the consequences of soft tissue sarcoma and its treatment experienced by survivors, the self-management strategies they use to deal with these consequences, and any factors that may act as barriers or facilitators to their selfmanagement.Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with seven soft tissue sarcoma survivors who had completed their primary treatment. Interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed and thematically analysed.Results: Physical, psychological and social consequences of soft tissue sarcoma and its treatment were identified, with side-effects, physical restrictions, body image issues, fear of recurrence, feeling depressed, familial relationships and sexual activity being the most frequently reported. Nine different types of self-management strategy encompassing eighteen specific strategies were identified, including cognitive strategies, lifestyle changes and utilisation of resources. Personal, social and environmental facilitators of self-management were identified; being in a relationship, being at an appropriate life stage, and having support from family, friends and medical staff were most commonly reported. Finally, personal and environmental barriers to self-management included the adaptation period, ongoing complications, rareness of sarcoma and poor patient-healthcare provider communication. Conclusions:The findings of this study suggest that soft tissue sarcoma survivors, especially those who are younger and experience physical limitations, may find the immediate post-3 treatment period particularly challenging and may benefit from nurse-led self-management support.
