Progress in the Synthesis of Cyclobutenones

Abstract

In recent years, significant progress has been made in the synthesis of cyclobutenones. The unique structural features and reactivity of cyclobutenones, making them of great values in organic synthesis. Therefore, the development of new strategies for synthesizing the cyclobutenones has been a major focus of organic chemists. This review summarizes the synthetic methods for the cyclobutenones in the past few decades and provides an overview of the characteristics and advantages of these strategies. The aim of this review is to provide valuable insights for the synthesis of cyclobutenones.
