“…Among clinicopathological characteristics, high expression of VISTA was significantly associated with high numbers of CD8+ TILs (risk ratio = 1.80, 95% CI 1.41–2.31, p < 0.001). 74 CD8+ TILs have already been related to antitumoral properties in different studies involving patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, 75 cervical and ovarian cancer, 76–78 squamous-cell head and neck carcinoma, 79 and lung cancer, 80 thus potentially indirectly supporting the positive prognostic role of VISTA as a biomarker.…”

“…A systematic review and meta-analysis of 10 studies (2,440 patients) correlated the value of VISTA with clinicopathological features and patient’s outcome endpoints including OS and disease-specific survival (DSS), via pooled HR and 95% confidence interval (CI). 74 High expression of VISTA (cut-off differently defined among studies) was associated with better OS compared to low expression (HR = 0.75, 95% CI 0.66–0.86, p < 0.001), but no association with DSS was observed (HR = 1.57, 95% CI 0.71–3.48, p = 0.268). Among clinicopathological characteristics, high expression of VISTA was significantly associated with high numbers of CD8+ TILs (risk ratio = 1.80, 95% CI 1.41–2.31, p < 0.001).…”

“…Previous studies indicated that VISTA was detected frequently in the TME of several solid tumors (Deng et al 2016;He et al 2020;Liao et al 2018;Rosenbaum et al 2020). In this study, we extensively explored the expression of VISTA in 223 PDAC tumor tissues by IHC staining of each large section.…”

“…However, VISTA overexpression has been associated with the inferior overall survival of patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma ( 77 ). A recent meta-analysis has shown that VISTA overexpression is associated with improved overall survival and increased tumor-infiltrating cytotoxic T lymphocytes in cancer patients ( 82 ).…”
