“…Studies have shown that the interaction between VEGF, PGF, TGF-B, and Fib can induce cancer cell proliferation, metastasis, angiogenesis and inhibiting apoptosis. [36], and prealbumin levels can also be used to indicate chronic inflammation and nutritional status in patients [37]. A persistent inflammatory state is thought to promote tumor angiogenesis and cancer cell proliferation through the tumor microenvironment to contribute to tumorigenesis and cancer progression [38], and persistent organismal malnutrition leads to weakened organismal resistance to tumors.…”

“…The CONUT score is an index related to ALB concentration, lymphocyte count, and TC concentration. Studies have shown that the CONUT score is strongly correlated with the survival rate of patients with thyroid cancer; it is also an independent risk factor for lung cancer prognosis[ 25 , 43 ]. NPS is an index related to serum ALB concentration, TC concentration, LMR, and NLR and has been proven to be a predictor of OS in a variety of tumors.…”

“…Interestingly, we also found a significant difference in other inflammatory prognostic indicators between RCS subgroups, as RCS 1 patients presented the highest NLR and lowest LMR, PNI, and ALI. Although it has not been extensively studied in stage I cases, the low levels of LMR [ 65 ], PNI [ 66 ], and ALI [ 67 ] have been found to be correlated with poor survival in patients after surgery, whereas the high level of NLR was found to be correlated with poor prognosis specifically in stage I cases [ 68 ]. These findings also support the notion that RCS 1 patients would have superior survival in our study.…”
