“…Further, tumor cells which spread through air spaces (STAS), a newly described pattern of invasion, is defined as tumor cells extending beyond the tumor edge within the lung parenchyma, has been reported to be a significant risk factor for local recurrence after sublobar resection . More recently, STAS was shown to be significantly associated with a poor prognosis in patients who had undergone sublobar resection, but not in patients who had undergone lobectomy in stage IA lung ADC .
