“…At last but not least, the multivariate analysis showed also a significant (p=0.045) prognostic value of P serum levels. The stage and PS also had a significant impact, which is in accordance with several publications (Babacan et al, 2014;Inal et al, 2013;Oven Ustaalioglu et al, 2013). Arslan et al (2014) among 122 non-small lung cancer patients with advanced stage showed that age, PS and stage were independent prognostic factors for survival.…”

“…Among the 95 patients, there was no significant difference in DFS and OS between patients who received adjuvant chemotherapy and those who did not. Taken together with previous studies, 19 , 20 VPI might not be a useful factor to determine whether patients with stage Ib disease should receive adjuvant chemotherapy. We also noticed that stage Ib patients with solid predominant growth pattern and who received adjuvant chemotherapy had longer DFS and OS than those who did not, but without statistical significance.…”

“…Lung cancers rank the top of cancer-related death with increasing morbidity around the world (Aydiner et al, 2013;Cai et al, 2013;Kaya et al, 2013;Mutlu et al, 2013;Natukula et al, 2013;Oven et al, 2013;Unal et al, 2013;Wang et al, 2013). At present, the chemotherapeutic protocols for NSCLC mainly apply platinums as basic drugs combining with the third generation chemotherapeutic drugs such as paclitaxel, gemcitabine and vinorelbine, etc..…”
