Prognostic and predictive value of FCER1G in glioma outcomes and response to immunotherapy

Abstract: Purpose Glioma is the most prevalent malignant form of brain tumors, with a dismal prognosis. Currently, cancer immunotherapy has emerged as a revolutionary treatment for patients with advanced highly aggressive therapy-resistant tumors. However, there is no effective biomarker to reflect the response to immunotherapy in glioma patient so far. So we aim to assess the clinical predictive value of FCER1G in patients with glioma. Methods The expressio… Show more

“…FcRγ has been implicated in tumor progression and associated with poorer outcomes when overexpressed. Additionally, in this group’s large cohort of over 1000 patients, it was confirmed that the FCER1G is a novel predictor of patients who respond to immunotherapy effectively [ 178 ].…”

“…Another group identified FCER1G (FcRγ) as a potential biomarker for GBM immunotherapy [ 178 ]. This molecule is involved in allergic reactions and encodes the immunoglobulin γ subunit of fragment crystallizable (Fc) region (FcR) [ 179 ].…”

“…Fc Fragment of IgE Receptor Ig ( FCER1G ) mediates allergic inflammatory signaling as a component of the high-affinity immunoglobulin E (IgE) receptor, and it is a critical molecule in developing eczema, clear cell renal cell carcinoma, meningioma and childhood leukemia ( Han et al, 2010 ; Mahachie John et al, 2010 ; Rajaraman et al, 2010 ; Chen et al, 2017 ). Houshi Xu et al demonstrated FCER1G as a novel predictor for clinical diagnosis, prognosis, and response to immunotherapy in glioma patients ( Xu et al, 2021 ). Early studies found that FCER1G transduced activation signals from various immunoreceptors and engaged in many immune responses, playing a tumor-promoting role in many kinds of tumors ( Shah et al, 2017 ; Sweet et al, 2017 ).…”
