Prognosis of critical limb ischemia patients with tissue loss after achievement of complete wound healing by endovascular therapy

Abstract: The overall survival rate of CLI patients was acceptable and the recurrence rate of CLI was extremely low once complete wound healing was achieved. Nonambulatory status and age >75 years can serve as predictors of death even after complete wound healing is achieved.

“…1117 In our study, independent aggravating factors of complete ulcer healing were a major defect after debridement, WBC count >10,000, and EVT, which are similar to those found in other studies. 1117 However, the effect of cilostazol use was unique. No other studies have presented an effective drug treatment, although the importance of an optimal medical therapy was spread widely.…”

“…Once wound healing was achieved, no major amputation was seen, the overall survival rate at 3 years was 74%, and the recurrence rate of CLI was only 9%. 13 These results suggest that wound healing is associated with improvement of the clinical outcomes of CLI patients. Care for CLI patients is not complete with only ischemia treatment.…”

“…Central sensitivity has been postulated to underly a variety of commonly comorbid conditions, including the structural and functional CPS assessed in this study, such as osteoarthritis, burn pain, headaches, diabetic neuropathy, tendonitis, central pain syndrome, muscle pain, complex regional pain syndrome/causalgia, back pain, cancer pain, trigeminal neuralgia, sciatica, shingles, surgical pain, temporomandibular pain, and fibromyalgia. 11, 12, 18, 27, 2933, 42, 44, 45, 48, 51, 55, 56, 6264, 66, 67, 6971 . As we again demonstrated, central sensitivity syndromes are often comorbid with depression, fatigue, anxiety, and sleep disturbance 1, 6771 .…”
