Profil Kompetensi Representasional Mahasiswa Calon Guru Biologi Berdasarkan Kemampuan Representasi Mikroskopis Struktur Perkembangan Tumbuhan

Abstract

This study was conducted to describe the representational competence of Biology prospective teacher. This representational competence measured was focused on microscopic level. 34 prospective teachers followed microscopic representation test, the ability to represent microscopic observation in visual mode and an ability to explain and predict phenomena in macroscopic representation level of the structure of plant development. The result showed that the prospective teacher was capable to transform the presentation mode, but they couldn't use that mode to build an explanation based on microscopic representation. ABSTRAKPenelitian dilakukan dalam rangka mendeskripsikan kompetensi representasional mahasiswa calon guru biologi. Kompetensi representasional yang diukur fokus pada kemampuan merepresentasikan pada tingkat mikroskopis. Mahasiswa calon guru biologi sebanyak 34 mengikuti tes kemampuan representasi mikroskopis yaitu kemampuan merepresentasikan hasil pengamatan mikroskopis ke dalam mode representasi visual serta kemampuan menjelaskan dan menggunakan pemahaman representasi tingkat mikroskopis untuk menjelaskan dan memprediksi fenomena pada representasi tingkat makroskopis pada struktur perkembangan tumbuhan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa calon guru mampu mentransformasikan mode representasi, namun belum mampu menggunakan untuk membangun penjelasan berdasarkan representasi mikroskopis.Kata kunci: calon guru, kompetensi representasional, representasi mikroskopis.
