Forage animal feed is needed by cattle, significantly increasing livestock productivity. Pakchong grass is a forage with a crude protein content of 16.45% and a lot of protein. Indigofera sp. is one leguminous and contains high protein with a crude protein content of 24.17%. This study aims to determine the optimal combination of Pakchong and Indigofera to increase body weight in Bali cattle. The research was conducted in UPTD. BPTHTM Serading, Sumbawa , NTB Province. This study used 28 male Bali Cattle aged 2-3 years. Livestock were randomly divided into four feed groups, namely seven cattle-fed elephant grass 70% and lamtoro 30% (P0), 70% pakchong grass and 30% indigofera (P1), 60% pakchong grass and 40% Indigofera (P2), 50% pakchong grass and 50% Indigofera (P3). Livestock receives forage for one week during the adaptation period and data collection for three months. The results of body weight gain from high to low are P2 of 0.34 kg/head/day, P1 of 0.32 kg/head/day, P3 of 0.22 kg/head/day, and the lowest was P0 of 0.20 kg/head/day. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that the optimal combination of pakchong and Indigofera in cattle feed was 60% pakchong grass and 40% Indigofera leguminous.

The Pakchong-1 hybrid cultivar is a highly productive forage grass cross between elephant grass and pearl millet grass (Pennisetum purpureum x Pennisetum glaucum). The research objective was to determine the growth and production response of Pakchong-1 elephant grass to different fertilizer doses and cutting ages. The study was conducted at the JASTRU (Jonggol Animal Science Teaching and Research Unit) of IPB University. This study used a 3 x 3 factorial completely randomized design (3 doses of nitrogen fertilizer x 3 cutting ages) with 4 replications. The data was analysed using ANOVA and the Duncan Multiple Range Test. The fertilizer doses used were 100, 200, and 300 kg ha-1, and the cutting ages were 50, 60, and 70 days. The research results showed that the cutting age significantly increased plant height (180.53 – 210.90 cm), dry leaf weight (3.90 – 5.63 tons ha-1), dry stem weight (2.32 – 4.38 tons ha-1), and total dry weight (6.22 – 10.02 tons ha-1). However, biomass production was not affected. There was an interaction between the fertilizer dose and cutting age in terms of the number of tillers (1.99 – 5.15 tillers per clump) and the number of leaves (5.55 – 11.18 leaves per plant). Based on the research, the optimal point for obtaining the best results in terms of plant height growth, number of leaves, number of tillers, production of fresh biomass, dry weight of stems, dry weight of leaves, and total dry weight of Pakchong-1 elephant grass was a cutting edge of 60 days and the addition of 100 kg ha-1 of fertilizer. Manure usually consists of a mixture of livestock feces and urine, which also contains macro elements such as Nitrogen (N), Phosphate (P), Potassium (K), Magnesium (Mg), and Calcium (Ca) as well as the microelement Manganese (Mn). This study aims to determine the in-vitro influence of the digestibility of dry matter, digestibility of organic matter, crude protein digestibility, and crude fiber digestibility on elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) cv. Thailand supplemented with cow feces and inoculated with AMF on ultisol soil. We used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were A administration of cow feces fertilizer (5 tons/ha) + fertilizer N, P, K, B cow feces fertilizer (5 tons/ha) + AMF (10 g/clump), C cow feces fertilizer (10 tons/ha) + AMF (10 g/clump), D cow feces fertilizer (15 tons/ha) + AMF (10 g/clump) and E cow feces fertilizer (20 tons/ha) + AMF (10 g/clump). We observed some parameters such as the digestibility of Dry Matter (DM), Organic Matter (OM), Crude Protein (CP), and Crude Fiber (CF) in-vitro. The results showed that the administration of cow feces fertilizers gave significantly different results (p<0.05) on digestibility (DM, OM, CP, and CF). , and CF digestibility (60.08-61.03%). We concluded that the application of 5 tons/ha of cow feces fertilizer +10 g of AMF resulted in relatively the same digestibility of DM, OM, CP, and CF so that it could replace 100% of N, P, and K fertilizers.
