Production ofK ?-mesons in proton-proton and proton-nucleus interactions at various energies

Abstract: Abstract. The experimental data on the production of K--mesons in pp-collisions are analyzed and a method of the unified description of these data in a broad energy range for primary protons is proposed. The K--mesons production in pA-col/isions is considered. The simple formulas for inclusive cross sections of the K--production in these collisions are given.

“…Comparing with earlier parameterizations, our predictions give a smaller cross section near threshold, roughly in line with the phase space considerations from Ref. [33]. It is thus important to have experimental data from nucleon-nucleon interactions at low energies to verify our predictions.…”

“…In particular, its total production cross section from pp collisions is practically unknown. There are a number of parameterizations of the antikaon production cross section from the nucleon-nucleon interaction [21][22][23][24]. For example, the inclusive K − production cross section from the proton-proton interaction, i.e., pp → K − X, has been parameterized in Ref.…”
