Production of highly polarized [1‐13C]acetate by rapid decarboxylation of [2‐13C]pyruvate – application to hyperpolarized cardiac spectroscopy and imaging
Abstract:Purpose:The objective of the present work was to develop and implement an efficient approach to hyperpolarize [1-13 C]acetate and apply it to in vivo cardiac spectroscopy and imaging. Methods: Rapid hydrogen peroxide induced decarboxylation was used to convert hyperpolarized [2-13 C]pyruvate into highly polarized [1-13 C]acetate employing an additional step following rapid dissolution of [2-13 C]pyruvate in a home-built multisample dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization system. Phantom dissolution experiment… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
