Production control in a consumer electronics factory

Abstract: This paper deals with production control in a consumer electronics factory. A short description of the situation and of the actual way of control (Material Requirements Planning) is given. Most attention is paid to modularity. The concept of marketing modularity is introducedto be able to analyze in the advantages of product modularity increasing external flexibility by geherating component stocks.
