Show more

“…Research data (Bernardi et al 2013a(Bernardi et al , 2013b showed that large gains in pasture productivity and nutrient maintenance are possible when soil fertility constraints are overcome. Precision agriculture tools help reveal nutrient heterogeneity (Gillingham and Betteridge 2001;Schellberg et al 2008;Trotter et al 2014) and indicate where to implement PA in a competitive and cost-efficient manner.…”

“…Each zone was established based on alfalfa yield and weed occurrence, since Bernardi et al (2013a) had showed for the same area an inverse correlation between soil fertility level and weed on alfalfa pasture. Each soil sample were a result of at least 10 sub-samples collected at the paddocks at the same zone.…”

“…It is justified that at this depth these SUTs presented lower amounts of Ca, Mg and K in the soil. Carvalho et al (2002) andBernadi, Rassani andFerreira (2012) point out that the values of BS in most Oxisols are generally low in the deeper layers, when comparing the superficial layers. The authors' statement is confirmed in this study, since at the depth of 20-40 cm, the BS values were lower than those found at the depth of 0-20 cm.…”
