Processable ESD control materials filled with tunable intrinsically conductive polymer nanocomposites

Abstract: A new class of conductive and stable additives has been developed via in situ polymerization of intrinsically conductive polymers onto carbon black. Melt processing of these tunable nanocomposite additives into various plastics leads to extrudable and injection moldable static dissipative materials with uniform and reproducible resistivity levels within an order of magnitude. These additives perform similarly in a variety of thermosets.
