Process-oriented development of embedded systems: modeling behavior and dependability

Abstract: This paper introduces a new paradigm for the development of Embedded Systems, called process-orientation. From the analysis of the problems encountered with stateof-the-art development methods for Embedded Systems, it becomes obvious that many difficulties are caused by the absence of good behavior models and the resulting intermingling of different design dimensions.
