Process of pain assessment in people with dementia living in nursing homes: a scoping review protocol

Abstract: IntroductionPain is a common symptom in people with dementia; untreated, it reduces quality of life and causes suffering. People with dementia living in nursing homes most often have dementia in moderate to severe stages. The cognitive impairment, including language and communication difficulties, challenges pain assessment.
