Abstract: Hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy (HIE), an important complication of perinatal asphyxia, remains a major health burden. Neonates are classifi ed using the Sarnat score and neonates >35 weeks with moderate/ severe HIE are treated with therapeutic hypothermia (TH).
