Procedures to Design Multi-Model-Based Predictive Controller Applied to BLDC Drive

Abstract: One of the main reasons that prevent the use of model-based predictive control (MPC) in power electronics and motor drive is the MPC design. The processes related to these fields have fast dynamics, and most of the MPC design guides involve the control of slow dynamic processes, which allow high sampling times and, consequently, a large time for the control action calculation. Moreover, practically only the linear model-based predictive controller can have small computational cost, which causes difficulty for … Show more

“…However, in terms of computational burden, EVs are the main issue with MPC, but this burden is alleviated by various advanced techniques such as artificial neural networks (ANN) and machine learning (ML) algorithms, among others. [224] This article has been accepted for publication in IEEE Access. This is the author's version which has not been fully edited and content may change prior to final publication.…”

“…The advances on methods and computation capacity of microprocessors allowed the development and application of powerful and sophisticated control strategies (Vazquez et al, 2016), among these strategies stand out the model predictive control (MPC) and the fuzzy control. These control techniques feature useful advantages and can be applied in several fields; recent applications can be seen in Sari et al (2019), Fateh and Fateh (2020) and Bartsch et al (2019).…”
