Purpose: This paper suggests the methodology for comprehensively and dynamically evaluating the economic effectiveness of business activities in a view of scientific and technological development. Methods: Authors analyze the previous studies related to evaluating the economic effectiveness of business activities and suggest the methodology using the weight coefficients and pair-evaluation standards. Results: The findings reveal that comprehensive economic effectiveness of business activities reflects the effective use of various resources including labor, material, fixed asset, liquid materials, and R&D expenditure into the business activities in a certain period of time and it must be assessed by using the integrated indicator. Implications: The findings may contribute to the theories related to the economic effectiveness of business activities. It is also likely to improve organizational decision-making.

Zinc oxide concentrate production is performed in the so-called rolldown process with the use of rotary furnaces. It is a complex technological process in which the zinc-bearing waste harmful to the environment is used as raw material. Incorrect process execution will cause a large number of unplanned stops. Three upgraded technological lines used for the production of concentrated zinc oxide at B. Recycling Sp. z o.o. company were analyzed. The purpose of the study was to determine the production process efficiency after implementation of the changes. In the study we used the Total Productive Maintenance method. We made the histograms for planned downtime and failures of individual technological lines for a period of one year and set the MTTF, MTBF and OEE indices. Analysis of results has allowed to propose a solution to shorten the failure duration.

Several business establishments have used inventory management strategies to strike a balance between responsiveness and efficiency. This study's primary objective was to assess the effect of inventory management practices on the warehouse efficiency of supermarkets and retail stores in Kedah and Perlis, specifically supermarkets. This study utilises a quantitative method by using primary data from questionnaires and secondary data compiled from prior studies' results. Statistical Packages for the Social Science (SPSS) version 25 software was used to analyse the data. The relationship between the independent and dependent variables was determined using regression analysis. The outcome showed that the inventory reorders point and supplier partnership management variable were accepted. However, the information technology hypothesis was rejected. This study recommends that supermarkets and retail stores utilise the best inventory management strategies to increase warehouse efficiency. It enables the tracking of stock unit movement in the warehouse, facilitates stock counting in the warehouse, maximises the use of available warehouse space, improves inventory data accuracy, reduces inventory theft, and enhances inventory cycle counting.
