Problematic issues and current solutions in the field of municipal waste management

Abstract

The article discusses problematic issues of the current stage of development in the field of waste management related to the implementation of the national goal of sorting waste in the amount of 100% and reducing the volume of waste sent to landfills by 2 times. The materials proposed in the article, highlighting foreign experience, note investment approaches to the implementation of projects for MSW processing complexes, and pay attention to the stage of organizing separate waste collection. Based on new environmental initiatives and regional practical experience, it is advisable to adjust the FC «Integrated System for Management of Municipal Solid Waste» and regional waste management programs in the direction of digitalization and development of new design and technological solutions.
