Probing the potential of mucus permeability to signify preterm birth risk

Abstract: Preterm birth is the leading cause of neonatal mortality, and is frequently associated with intra-amniotic infection hypothesized to arise from bacterial ascension across a dysfunctional cervical mucus plug.
