Probing right handed neutrinos at the LHeC and lepton colliders using fat jet signatures

Abstract: The inclusion of heavy neutral leptons (right-handed neutrinos) to the Standard Model (SM) particle content is one of the best motivated ways to account for the observed neutrino masses and flavor mixing. The modification of the charged and neutral currents from active-sterile mixing of the neutral leptons can provide novel signatures which can be tested at the future collider experiments. In this article, we explore the discovery prospect of a very heavy right handed neutrino to probe such extensions at the fu… Show more

“…• At the LEP collider, the collaborations L3 [63,64] and DELPHI [65] searched for N produced through on-shell Z production, e + e − → Z → N ν , followed by the decays [67,68]. Furthermore, a future FCC(-ee) collider, acting as a powerful e + e − → Z factory and exploiting low backgrounds in displaced vertex searches, can improve the sensitivity drastically; down to |V eN | 2 10 −11 for m N ≈ 50 GeV [69].…”

“…On the top of that, the right-handed chirality structure of U (1) R can be investigated at the LHC by measuring Forward-Backward (FB) and top polarization asymmetries in Z → tt mode [70] and which can discriminate our U (1) R Z interaction from the other Z interactions in U (1) B−L model. The investigation of other exotic decay modes (N N , χχ, S + 2 S − 2 ) of heavy Z is beyond the scope of this article and shall be presented in a future work since these will lead to remarkable multi-lepton or displaced vertex signature [71][72][73][74][75][76][77] at the colliders.…”
