Abstract:The nuclear structure of the odd-mass 69Zn and 7lZn isotopes, with one hole or one particle outside the N = 40 subshell closure, has been investigated by measuring the lifetime of excited states using the recoil distance Doppler-shift method. The nuclei o f interest were produced in a deep-inelastic reaction in inverse kinematics with a -8U beam impinging on a 70Zn target. Single-particle and collective states were found to coexist at low energy in 69Zn and 71Zn.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
