Probing and Perturbing Riboswitch Folding Using a Fluorescent Base Analogue

Abstract: Riboswitches are gene-regulating mRNA segments most commonly found in bacteria. A riboswitch contains an aptamer domain that binds to a ligand, causing a conformational change in a downstream expression platform.
