Probabilistic Analysis Of A Space Truss By Means Of A Multidimensional Variable Description

Abstract: Probabilistic analysis of a space truss is presented in the paper. Reliability of such a structure is sensitive to geometrical and material imperfections. The objective of this paper is to present a variant of the point estimate method (PEM) to determine mean values and standard deviations of limit loads of engineering structures. The main advantage presented by this method is the small number of sample calculations required to obtain estimators of investigated parameters. Thus the method is straightforward, re… Show more

“…Detailed tests on samples taken from the analyzed columns are important from the point of view of determination of material properties. After the experimental verification, the advanced nonlinear numerical analyses are also scheduled, including some stochastic issues involved (see [21][22][23], for example). The authors would like to thank TASK CI for the opportunity to use ABAQUS software.…”

“…Therefore, further study, focused on experimental tests, is planned to be conducted so as to confirm the numerical results obtained. After experimental verification, a full non-linear dynamic analysis are also scheduled (including some stochastic issues [18][19][20]) so as to verify the seismic resistance of different types of steel radial gates.…”

“…The reliability analysis is field of interests of many scientists, not only in Poland [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8], but all over the world [9][10][11]. Far fewer studies relate fire analysis of steel structures to the reliability analysis [12][13][14][15][16][17][18].…”
