Principal Component and Biplot Analysis in the Agro-industrial Characteristics of Anacardium spp.

Abstract: The cajuí Anacardium spp., which is similar to the caju Anacardium Ocidentale L., is a species adapted to edaphic-climatic conditions of the biome Cerratinga (Cerrado e Caatinga). Its fruit is composed of one swollen stalk (pedicel) which is formed by nutritional reserves rich in vitamin C and drupe (cashew nut). It is also rich in protein and lipids, but with smaller size. This paper focuses on investigating the applicability of the biplot graphical analysis in the process of selective breeding of cajuí popul… Show more

“…Such results are not susceptible to extrapolation or juxtaposition, since they are the final product of the manifestation of particular genes and, depending on the degree of heritability of the variables, determined by different levels of intrinsic influence from the growing environment. In this work therefore, no comparisons with the results obtained from other genetic populations are reported; one exception can be justified, when the analysis is based on monogenic variables (MAIA et al, 2018;MAIA et al, 2019;PINHEIRO et al, 2019). It was therefore necessary to restrict this study to citing information, and to inferences of a theoretical nature.…”

“…has particular significance. The fruit and pseudofruit are rich in nutrients, being consumed in different ways by the local population in areas of natural occurrence of these species (Maia et al 2019). The term 'cajui' (small cashew fruit) is used to describe species of the genus Anacardium L. that produce small nuts (cashews) and peduncles (Borges et al 2018).…”
