Abstract:In this article, the authors discuss the legal nature, types and most significant be-
nefits of the application of alternative (diversion) measures for juvenile offenders.
Particular attention is given to diversion measures imposed by police officers. In this
respect, such measures have been analyzed in relevant legislation and practice in
England and Wales, the Republic of Ireland, Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It
