Malignant melanoma (MM) of gynaecological tract represents about 2% cases of all melanomas. Most of the gynaecologic tract melanomas are reported in vulva and vagina. Malignant melanoma of uterine cervix is extremely rare and about 78 cases are mentioned in literature. Primary Malignant melanoma of cervix usually occurs in sixth decade of life and has poor prognosis. We report a case of primary malignant melanoma diagnosed in a young woman of 28 years. Initial diagnosis of malignant melanoma was made on the basis of morphological features revealed in the cervical biopsy obtained from a polypoidal cervical growth. Cervix as the primary site of occurrence of malignant melanoma was confirmed after extensive clinical and radiological evaluation. Radical hysterectomy was the initial treatment. Histopathogical diagnosis was substantiated in this patient with the help of immunohistochemical markers.

Malignant melanoma of the genital tract is a rare disease that is usually diagnosed by chance. When a definite diagnosis is delayed, the prognosis is very poor without standardized treatment. Herein, we describe a 40-year-old patient who presented with a history of bloody vaginal discharge for 7 months. Gynecological examination showed an exophytic, hard and pigmented cervical mass involving the upper vagina. The patient was diagnosed with cervical melanoma after a punch biopsy and underwent a radical hysterectomy, upper vaginectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy. After surgeries, the patient underwent 2-cycles of adjuvant immunotherapy with pembrolizumab, but died within 8 months. In this report, treatment with pembrolizumab after radical surgery was not effective for this patient who had a primary cervical melanoma that metastasized to bone and lung tissue. We do not know why pembrolizumab was ineffective for this patient, but there are several possible explanations; further research is needed.

This paper analyses three performative works by contemporary Brazilian artists that tackle the topic of work, focusing on Walter Benjamin’s theory and employing his proposed division between the first and second technique. This allows us to discuss these works outside the scope of relational art and unveil their political bias through other perspectives, no longer restricted to mere public participation, but to the formal choices encompassed by each proposal. We note from the adopted perspective, that featuring elements from the world of work within artistic productions, in these cases, invites public and artists to engage in modes of shared distraction as a critical form.
