It is characterized by the presence of a breast lump, with or without associated regional adenopathy and without systemic involvement. Imaging findings are nonspecific, and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is the most common histological type. Given its rarity, there is still no consensus on the best approach, with chemotherapy being the most accepted treatment. This article aims to present a literature review as wel… Show more

“…Our patient had breast lymphoma, which accounts for 0.04%–0.70% of breast neoplasms 6 7. Primary breast lymphoma (PBL) is diagnosed only when there is no lymphomatous involvement beyond the axillary lymph nodes 8. The average age of PBL diagnosis is in the seventh decade of life, with clinical presentation and imaging findings similar to breast carcinomas 7.…”

“…Therefore, the arrangement of these malignant lymphocytes in the superficial dermis is characteristic for early MF stages, which, unlike deep dermal lymphocytes, which are difficult to identify due to the presence of collagen fibers that compress them, can be easily spotted (18). Although most of them are hypoechoic masses (87%), the presence of calcifications and spiculate margins is not common (30). On breast ultrasound, the lymphoma has the appearance of a well-defined or illdefined solid mass, hypoechogenic or with mixed ecostructure, with the long axis parallel to the skin most of the time, with posterior acoustic amplification (31) (Figure 3A).…”
