Prevention of Cytomegalovirus Retinitis-Related Retinal Detachment by Prophylactic Argon Laser Demarcation in patients with AIDS in Myanmar

Abstract: Background: Cytomegalovirus retinitis (CMVR) is the primary cause of AIDS-related blindness and remains a substantial cause of blindness in resource-limited settings. Retinal detachment (RD) occurs in approximately 1/3 of patients with CMV retinitis.
