Abstract: ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE:To estimate the prevalence of falls in elderly individuals and to analyze associated factors. METHODS:Cross-sectional study with 420 elderly subjects (aged 60 years or older) living in the city of Juiz de Fora (Southeastern Brazil) in 2010. A household survey was conducted and the occurrence of falls in the 12 previous months was described.
