Prevalência de anticorpos IgG antiparvovírus B19 em gestantes durante o atendimento pré-natal e casos de hidropisia fetal não imune atribuídos ao parvovírus B19, na Cidade do Rio de Janeiro

Abstract: RESUMO ABSTRACTWith the aim of measuring the prevalence of anti-parvovirus B19 IgG antibodies during pregnancy up to 24 weeks of gestation and detecting cases of nonimmune hydrops fetalis, 249 sera from pregnant women attending a reference hospital in Rio de Janeiro City, from June 2003 to November 2004 were collected. They were followed-up until the end of pregnancy, with 17 cases of fetal hydrops detected. “…The prevalence (91%) was higher than that observed in our patients. In fact, we found rates similar to those obtained in larger seroprevalence studies in Brazilian immunocompetent adults, whose seropositivity rates ranged from 71.6-73.7% (Nascimento et al 1990, Silva et al 2006, Huatuco et al 2008. Gyllensten et al (1994) searched retrospectively 69 HIV-infected patients with anaemia.…”

“…Hutataco et al (13) , reported in Caieiras, São Paulo, Brazil, that seroprevalence of 72% was observed in adults (31-40 years). In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, seroprevalence was 71.2% in pregnant women of up to 24 weeks of gestation and 21-30 years old; 76.4% in 31-to 40-year-old women; and 72.7% in women older than 41 years (19) . The incidence of acute B19V infection in pregnancy is approximately 1%-2% in endemic periods, but in epidemic periods infection rate may rise to >10% (7,21) .…”

“…Em um estudo realizado no Rio de Janeiro entre 2003 e 2006, o eritrovírus foi implicado como o causador de 23,5% de hidropisia fetal em gestantes em acompanhamento pré-natal (Silva et al, 2006).…”
