“…Our recent investigation compared the prevalence of MS using three different definitions, and their ability to identify the risk of ischemic heart disease. Results show that in Kaunas population aged 35-64 years the highest prevalence of MS was determined according to the IDF definition and using this definition for MS provides more opportunities to identify subjects with ischemic heart disease [21]. The relationship between lifestyle habits and prevalence of MS defined by IDF definition is still under investigation and has not been studied in Lithuanian population thus far.…”
