Prevalence of the Antiphospholipid Antibodies in Young Adults with Ischemic Stroke

Abstract: Background: Ischemic stroke is rare in young adults, with an incidence of about 10-15% of all the ischemic strokes. In about one third of these patients a cause is missing. Among patients with antiphospholipid antibodies syndrome (APS), stroke is the first thrombotic event in about 13% of cases.
