Prevalence of Temporomandibular Joint Disorders Evaluation of Various Signs and Symptoms and Possible Contributing Aetiological Factors

Abstract: BACKGROUNDThe Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMDs) comprise a constellation of symptoms affecting the joint and the muscles involved in jaw movement. The aetiology of TMD is little understood, but has been attributed to several factors including trauma, emotional stress, malocclusion and parafunctional habits (Clenching or Bruxing).
