“…In the diabetic population, the relationship between hypertension and SRCs was not significant. The reason may be the difference in the study population, sample size, stage of hypertension, and techniques for detecting renal cysts (Lee et al, 2013;Choi, 2016;Mensel et al, 2018). However, the potential explanations for the difference must be clarified by conducting further research.…”

“…Renal cysts are prevalent in general population, with a prevalence between 5.2% and 41%, according to age group and imaging modalities, with CT or magnetic resonance imaging being the most sensitive [10]. Older age, male sex, hypertension, and smoking history, all increase the likelihood for developing renal cysts [11]. Therefore, whether the presence of renal cysts, in particular, is an incidental finding, or indeed a true…”

“…Rahbari-Oskoui et al [23] also described acquired renal cysts as "multiple small bilateral cysts". On the other hand, Mensel et al reported 15mm as the size in male patients in the general population, and 1.8 as the average number of renal cysts [24].  Types of cysts Per renal ultrasound revealed in patients on dialysis that, simple cysts were predominantly represented (58.43%) compared to atypical cysts (41.57%).…”
