Prevalence of Gastrointestinal Parasite in Four Goat Breeds Slaughtered in Two Major Abattoirs in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria

Abstract

Goats harboured number of gastrointestinal parasites and high infestation of intestinal parasite in livestock such as goat could result to inefficient feed utilization leading to reduced growth rate in young animals, reduced weaning weights, low milk production, enhanced susceptibility to other diseases and poor meat production; thus, there is need to constantly study and carry out routine check on intestinal parasites of livestock time to time for proper management.
