“…ECC is one of the most neglected chronic diseases of childhood in India. The prevalence of ECC at the national level is found to be 49.6 percent with the highest in Andrapradesh (63 percent) and lowest in Assam (41.9 percent), and in Tamil Nadu, it is reported to be 63.4 percent . Among 8–48‐month‐old children, prevalence is found to be 44 percent, and in south India, the prevalence among 0–3‐year‐olds are reported to be 40.6 percent, of whom 49.7 percent had cavitated and 50 percent had noncavitated lesions.…”
