Abstract: Suphodoxine-Pyrimethamine (SP) acts by inhibiting P. falciparum replication, therefore, long term use of SP in malarial endemic sittings as intermittent preventive treatment (IPT) during pregnancy might lead to increased risk of submicroscopic parasitaemia.
