“…Based on these CCRT studies in PWH with NCI, the objective of this study was to investigate whether CCRT can improve cognition by comparing cognitive performance of two groups of PWH who are on cART, one receiving CCRT sessions and the other receiving a treatment-as-usual (TAU) protocol. In this study, due to previous findings that showed certain cognitive domains may be more impaired among an Iranian sample (Etesami et al, 2022), the impact of the CCRT protocol was studied on specific cognitive domains of nonverbal learning, planning, divided attention, spatial attention (vigilance), selective attention, and visual memory, as well as a global neurocognitive performance score. Based on previous CCRT studies (i.e., Vance, Blake, et al, 2019), it was hypothesized that compared with the TAU group, those who received the CCRT training would experience enhanced nonverbal learning, planning performance, visual memory, attention (including divided, spatial and selective attention) and improved global neurocognitive performance.…”
